A little post-Christmas shopping

Just a little.

I had a little time to spare at the shopping centre today and Priceline had a sale on for some Maybelline cosmettics so I decided to try some things out. I got 3 things.

La Mer Watches

I discovered this brand of watches through a friend of mine who is a modern day fashionista. Following the latest trends, she combs through the fads and selects the trends that will last for a long time. The past year has seen the trend of friendship bracelets and Moroccan inspired bracelets come to the forefront of fashion and anything that adds to the chunkiness of the arm is a welcome trend. What we might wear this year, we might think is horrendous next year, that's why they're call fads but this style of watch is something that I think will last a long time and is definitely a different look in terms of accessorizing.

Sigma Make Me Cool Aqua Kit

Hey guys, another post for you all today talking about Sigma. I know I'm probably the last person to jump on board of the Sigma train but I was just never really interested until their Thanksgiving/Black Friday sale came along and it was free shipping worldwide. I decided to purchase it since it meant 12-13 dollars off my order and if any of you knew about the sale, you would know what I mean when I said it was impossible trying to get onto the website the WHOLE day. The site was flooded and it was only in the 2nd last hour that I decided to try again and got through the checkout page. Alas, 2 weeks later my order arrived on my doorstep in a neat little box and I bounded through the door jumping up and down in excitement. Clarins HydraQuench Intensive Serum Bi-Phase

Hello all, I hope you're all having a good day. As you may or may not know I live in Australia, more specifically Sydney and while it's supposed to be summer here, the weatherman up there has decided he doesn't like summer anymore and gave us Autumnal (Fall) rain for the past week or two. So since it isn't stinkingly hot yet my skin has stayed in its dehydrated stance and I've had to bring back out my winter skin saver, the Clarins HydraQuench Intensive Serum Bi-Phase. Whoa that sure is a long name, but does it live up to its long name and deliver long lasting results? Click on to see.

You don't know Jacques!!!

I painted my nails for the first time in a long time after going off nail polish in order to revive my dying nails. It is rather dreary weather here so I decided to go for something similar. I chose OPI's 'You don't know Jacques!' which is from the France collection of 2008. A perfect taupe-y color, it is neutral enough yet somehow catches your eye and you just know it's 'You don't know Jacques!' It is now a permanent color and always one of my goto colors when I don't know what I want. Here is a picture for those of you who haven't seen it. Sorry for my ugly peeling skin, I've been having dry skin syndrome as the weather can't seem to make up its mind.

Rimmel London Lipstick Haul

I've been on the prowl to find the PERFECT red lipstick lately. I think it's because I watched too many Jen and Sarah videos on Youtube and they have an absolutely gorgeous collection of reds. Now I've always strayed far from reds because it is so easy to get a bit too lippy-happy and end up looking like a clown. So I never bothered. Why would I when there are so many other pretty colors out there? But I've discovered that it's an amazing color as it can really bring sexy to a look and when applied delicately can be the difference between an 'oh! you look pretty' make up look and a 'wow! you look great!' make up look. Hence my need to suddenly buy so many red lippies at once. Now ASOS recently had a 25% off sale on all Rimmel products and I took the chance to stock up on the lipsticks as it was a great price. Only 3 Pounds or 3 Pounds 50 which is a steal when you live in Australia and prices are usually $10 plus for a drugstore lipstick.

My Top Three Eyeliners

Many brands beauty world are always creating new products for us claiming that they've discovered a new method that works better than all the old ones or that this formula is the newer better version of their old one and sometimes their claims are true, but most often than not, these products just don't live up to their hype and so we revert back to our tried and true loved ones and continue on with our lives.

Today I am showing you three of my favorite brands of eyeliners, 2 gel and 1 liquid. They are MAC Fluidline in Blacktrack, Bobbi Brown Long-Wear in Black Ink and Koji Dolly Wink Liquid Eyeliner in Black. These are my HG eyeliners, I love them all in a different way and here is why.

First day of summer

It's the first day of summer and there's 90 days left. I cannot wait for it to get started. Summer has to be my favorite season of the year because Australian summers are just blissful. The start of the season begins with the flowers blooming, the grass turning greener, the sky being clearer and of course, the temperature becoming hotter. Although it is not necessarily a hot day, it is a perfect weather kind of day.

Black Friday Haul?

Greetings everyone, as you may or may not have noticed, the past week has been holiday week in the US with Thanksgiving and Black Friday falling on Thursday and Friday consecutively and if you have read the news at all you would have seen the crazy rampage to get first dibs on heavily discounted products. Well I myself did a little shopping too, albeit not in the US but the Apple store here in Sydney did follow its US tradition of holding a Black Friday sale with most electronics discounted and...

Clarisonic Review

As you have all probably heard, the Clarisonic brand has really taken off in Australia in the past 3-4 years as it claims to be the best facial cleansing tool on the market with those that copy it substandard and not utilizing the "sonic" vibration like it claims it is. Now I am usually quite good with seeing past fads and ignoring lemmings however this product would just keep popping up in websites and forums that I read every so often and slowly but surely my lemming grew to the point where I could not not have it and that is the beginning of my Clarisonic story. I'm sure not that different to many of you for different products.

Face of the Day

Eyes: Lunasol Three-dimensional eyeshadow palette in 02 Soft Beige and Dollywink Liquid Eyeliner in black
Face: Estee Lauder Doublewear foundation in 37 Tawny
Lips: Smashbox in Visual
Blush: Pout Bronzer Duo in BP05 (discontinued brand)

As you can see, I don't have perfect skin but I am doing my best, I am testing out the Clarins newer skincare line recently but I am the laziest person when it comes to skincare, so it might take a while. I will do a skincare routine post later on and if anyone has any suggestions, I would be happy to research a bit more into it.

Revlon Outlet Haul

Welcome to another beauty blog with random make up reviews and swatches. Luckily I have a mini haul to do today as I went to the Revlon factory outlet sale this morning. It was a small-ish sale with a good mix of products. Prices ranged from $2 to $7 with foundations and eyeshadow palettes being $7, lipglosses and lipsticks started from $2 and hair dye was available for $5. There was also perfumes but I didn't really look at those since I was mainly there for lip and eye makeup.
