My Top Three Eyeliners

Many brands beauty world are always creating new products for us claiming that they've discovered a new method that works better than all the old ones or that this formula is the newer better version of their old one and sometimes their claims are true, but most often than not, these products just don't live up to their hype and so we revert back to our tried and true loved ones and continue on with our lives.

Today I am showing you three of my favorite brands of eyeliners, 2 gel and 1 liquid. They are MAC Fluidline in Blacktrack, Bobbi Brown Long-Wear in Black Ink and Koji Dolly Wink Liquid Eyeliner in Black. These are my HG eyeliners, I love them all in a different way and here is why.

MAC Fluidline, one of the two classically famous gel eyeliners. It has been a favorite for many because of its smooth consistency, its blackness and its long lasting power. I myself have gone through 2 pots of these in my make up lifetime as they last FOREVER and I still pull this one out to use on days when I am in a hurry and need a smooth quick application.

Bobbi Brown Long-Wear is the other classic. It truly lives up to its name in the long-wearing department and many have been converted from Fluidline to Long-wear over the years. While the BB eyeliner is also a favorite of mine, I find that its formula is a little bit drier than the Fluidline so I only use this when I have a bit more time to apply my eyeliner carefully. Having said that, it is still a great eyeliner as BB carries more toned down colors with several shades of browns. It's great for when you are going for a more natural look.

Koji Dolly Wink liquid eyeliner is the last of today's review. It -is the only Asian branded eyeliner I have included and also the only liquid eyeliner. Dolly Wink wins in my book as it is the most long lasting eyeliner I have ever used. It does not budge! Nope, not even with copious amounts of Water. I love it! It is my HG eyeliner. The color of the eyeliner is true black, and the tip is amazing as its the thinness and the control are great for making a thin liner look. Some of you may not like to use liquid liners as they are harder to control but I tell you this will make you change your mind and while the finish of the liner may look slightly shiny at first, give it a few minutes and it will settle nicely into the skin making it look less artificial.

Here are some swatches

MAC Gently off eye and lip remover on a cotton pad

Two light swipes of the remover on all three eyeliners

All three are quite long lasting as they mostly wouldn't budge the first time I swiped over them and it was only the second time that there was some movement. As you can see, the Dolly Wink is still quite visible with minimal smudging. I love it. So there you have it, my top three eyeliners as of right now. I will still continue to try out new eyeliners as I believe there is always something better out there. What are your favorite eyeliners? Have you ever tried these and what are your opinions of it?
